Lessons from the resignation of Radio Shack's CEO

Let’s examine what took place over the past week: News reports on Thursday, February 16 stated that Radio Shack was hiring outside counsel to investigate errors in CEO David Edmondson’s résumé. Those errors included claims that he earned two college degrees for which the school he attended has no records. The reports also indicated that Edmondson accepted responsibility for the errors and still believes he earned one of the degrees, but cannot document it.

Study: Strong majority of businesses say building credibility matters, but relatively few are taking steps to do so

Pioneer Strategies recently released the results of a Small Business Study conducted in late 2005. While the survey results are not scientific, they do provide an interesting look into the mind’s eye of the Triangle’s small business community. The survey revealed that a solid majority of respondents understand the importance of building a strong, credible reputation for their organization, but that relatively few of them are taking steps to do so.
