Are You Ready for 2010?

During these challenging times, the ability to effectively communicate your organization’s message is more important than ever.
However, good public relations does not happen on its own; it takes work, and it requires a clear, forward-looking strategy.
During these uncertain economic times, it is also more important than ever for businesses and other organizations to make the most of their resources. Again, this does not happen on its own: it requires a plan.
Proof that E-mail Marketing Still Works
On more than one occasion I have been asked whether e-mail marketing is still worthwhile, especially given the rise of social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. In fact, I have seen other marketing communication professionals make absolute statements like “social media is always better than e-mail marketing.”
Earlier today I sent out our monthly e-mail newsletter, The Pioneer Strategist. The newsletter went out around 4:15 p.m. At 4:28 p.m. I received a phone call from someone who received the newsletter and wanted to inquire about our services.

FOX News: Internet users are being warned to watch out for a computer virus targeting popular social networking sites in the run up to Christmas.
Sky News has been told that Facebook users are most at risk from a variant of the Koobface virus, which has been disguised as a festive greetings video hosted on a YouTube site.
