Pioneer Strategies celebrating 25 years in business
Pioneer Strategies, a Brunswick County-based public relations and strategic communication firm, is celebrating 25 years in business this August. Brunswick County native Frank Williams founded the firm in August 2001 while living in Raleigh, and the firm was incorporated on September 11, 2001. Williams, a 1988 graduate of North Brunswick High School and 1993 graduate of N.C. State University, moved Pioneer Strategies to Brunswick County at the end of 2008.
“It’s hard to believe we’ve been in business 25 years,” said Williams. “I’m grateful for the numerous clients and strategic partners who have helped us reach this milestone, and I’m especially thankful for our amazing team members. None of this would have been possible without them.”
Pioneer Strategies’ first client was Concept Golf, which was owned by the late John Toepel, Jr., a former PGA Tour player. Since its inception, the firm has worked with hundreds of clients in a variety of industries throughout North Carolina and across the nation.
“In recent years, it has become evident that our sweet spot is serving as a fractional department of communication for associations, non-profits and businesses that need communication assistance, but don’t need a full in-house department. We can also assist organizations that have an in-house communication staffer who is spread too thin,” said Williams.

The agency’s work has been recognized by the Hermes Creative Awards, the Sir Walter Raleigh Awards for Excellence in Communication and the MarCom Creative Awards. Pioneer Strategies also received the North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural “Partnership Excellence Award” at the chamber’s annual meeting and awards banquet on June 23, 2026.
