Pioneer Strategies wins Hermes Creative Award for City of Northwest seal design

NORTHWEST, N.C. – Pioneer Strategies, a public relations and strategic communication firm based in Leland, recently won a Gold Hermes Creative Award in the Print Media – Logo Design category for the City of Northwest’s new city seal. Pioneer Strategies’ account executive, Zach Drennan, designed the seal. The award was among the early deadline winners announced on April 3.
“The City of Northwest wanted a sharp, fresh seal that depicts the City’s vision for the future while honoring its past,” said Drennan. “The top half of the new seal features a locomotive, which symbolizes the rail line that runs through Northwest, and business buildings depicting the City leadership’s plan for growth and economic development. The bottom half of the seal features rocking chairs on a farmhouse porch overlooking a horse barn, which honors Northwest’s deep agricultural roots and reputation as a quiet, family-oriented community.”
“Zach went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that every detail of this seal met and exceeded the City’s expectations, and I’m pleased that his excellent work was recognized with a Hermes Creative Award,” said Frank Williams, President of Pioneer Strategies.
“We love our new City seal, and we were excited to learn that Pioneer Strategies’ excellent work was recognized with this award,” said Donna Strickland, City Clerk for the City of Northwest. The City’s new website and seal can be viewed at
