Williams organizes successful public relations conference in Raleigh
Pioneer Strategies’ President, Frank Williams, who currently serves as president elect of the N.C. Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (NCPRSA), spearheaded the chapter’s annual conference held November 18 at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh. The theme of this year’s conference, which attracted over 100 attendees and featured a lineup of informative speakers and panel discussions, was “Transformation.”
“This was our first in-person conference since COVID, and our team worked hard to pull together a substantive program designed to equip communication professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to adapt to our rapidly changing world,” said Williams. “In addition to adapting to the transformation happening around us, communication professionals should be agents of change that help our organizations and clients properly respond to the changes they will inevitably face.”
The conference program included:
- A keynote address from Nikki Bracy, social media manager for Pandora Jewelry
- A media panel featuring Tim Boyum, Spectrum 1 political anchor and the host of Capital Tonight, Ana Rivera, reporter and anchor with ABC 11, Sougata Mukherjee, editor-in-chief of Triangle Business Journal, and Adam Wagner, climate change and environmental reporter with The News & Observer
- A panel discussion on communicating through disruption featuring Doug Allred, APR, external communications manager with CONE Health, Ayana D. Hernandez, interim associate vice chancellor for strategic communications with Elizabeth City State University, and Crystal Kimpson Roberts, communications specialist with Durham Public Schools
- Breakout sessions covering a variety of topics, including a TikTok tutorial, digital marketing trends, best practices to approach your rebranding, how to prepare clients for media interviews, personal branding for professional success, and more.
